Strengthening Our Latvian Community Across the U.S. - NCLA Board members attend ALA Congress

🇱🇻 The 74th Annual Congress of the American Latvian Association (ALA) took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from 9 to 12 October 2025, bringing together representatives of Latvian organizations from across the United States to discuss shared priorities — from cultural preservation and education to civic engagement, diaspora policy, and future collaboration.
The Northern California Latvian Association was represented by board members Una Veilande, Gerda Ogriņa, Inga Pīterbārka, President Astrid Ramāns, and Vice-Chairman Mārtiņš Andersons.
Over several days, delegates attended in-depth sessions covering topics such as:
- Latvia’s defense and transatlantic cooperation,
- Diaspora engagement and citizenship policy,
- Youth involvement, education, and culture,
- The importance of journalism and heritage preservation in the modern era.

🎉 Congratulations to the NCLA Vice-Chairman Mārtiņš Andersons on being re-elected as President of the American Latvian Association! His continued leadership will ensure that our nationwide Latvian community remains connected, forward-looking, and united.
We return inspired by the meaningful discussions, new partnerships, and the shared vision for a strong and vibrant Latvian diaspora. 🇱🇻✨
